The story of Taken by Cars started 10 years ago when 4 unassuming high school kids coming from diverse cultural backgrounds with the same passion for music and a little knack with their musical instruments decided to form a band Bryce Zialcita (Lead Guitars), Derek Siopao Chua (Guitars), Benson Yap (Bass), and Bryan Kong (Drums) were magkabarkada since their early elementary days. After years of covering their music gods and lingering on different genres, the band finally found a home when they were introduced to Sarah Marco (Vocals). Today, the band is focused on writing their own music and sharing it to the rest of the world. With elements ranging from their classic rock roots to their passion for modern indie music, TbC has fabricated an endearing yet daunting sound that will grip you in whichever mood you are in.

By late 2006, after garnering enough material for a 30-minute set, the band took its first steps into the publics eye, as they started playing to an audience in small gigs and productions for the very first time. In February 2008, TbC released A Weeknight Memoir (in High Definition) on NU107 and it immediately peaked at #1 on the daily countdown. During the course of the year, TbC has slowly gathered attention, not only to music fans but to fellow musicians as well. The band was named MTV Philippines Online Artist of the Month of June. In October of the same year, TbC collaborated with Chicosci for the Jack Daniels Jacks Mix event (the EP for the TbC-Chicosci collaboration is in the works and should be out within the year). While doing so, the band has been busy working in the studio recording their full-length debut album with Mong Alcaraz (Sandwich, Chicosci) as producer. The albums carrier single, Uh Oh, now playing across the airwaves, reached #1 on NUs daily countdown as well.
The debut album, Endings of a New Kind, was released last January 28, 2008 and peaked at #7 on the Music One Album Sales chart. With two #1 singles and an album under their belt, Taken by Cars is set to breakthrough in 2008.
